Siem Reap

The motor romauk aka "tuk-tuk" is a common mode of transport in this city. The complimentary shuttle from the airport to the hotel was a 250cc motorbike that carted 4 adults with room to load all the luggages.
Seat at the rear are considered VIP.
If it rains, there is a pvc cover to enclose the wagon.
If it floods, the vehicle turns amphibian.

Children
Many teenagers peddled goods in tourists sites. I have not met anyone who could not converse in English.
A toddler enjoying the sudden downpour.

She sat next to a group of musicians while the other children walked to school.
Kids cycling to school on a very long and straight road.
Tonle Sap Lake. The little girl paddled towards passing boats amusing tourists with a snake that she keeps in her little dinghy.

Trees
There is a compromise between conserving the historic buildings and preserving the huge trees that erodes the structure. The sheer size of the trees reflects how time was forgotten when the inhabitants left their kingdom centuries ago.

Ta Promh - made famous by Angelina Jolie's Lara Croft movie.
Preah Khan.

Structures
There are so many temple-palace ruins and we have seen some of the restoration works were being done by foreigners probably volunteers.

Continuation from Mid Life Chronicles

This new blog is a continuation from Mid Life Chronicles, www.shcheong.blogspot.com. The new blog layout offers variable column customization and settings. Changing the old blog to the new layout would render the original posts out of alignment - too tedious to rework and readjust the postings.
